A late 1700's early 1800's oil painting on canvas. French in origin. Depicts a portrait of a gentleman wearing a wig. Wooden frame with canvas nailed in around the sides. No signature that I could discvoer.

Distressed with rips in the canvas to let side of the face, If this area were repaired there would still be a small piece of the canvas missing. Wear and missing paint as well as cracks which can be seen the photos. A thick layer of dust and probably dirt. The painting appears to have been tucked away in storage for years.
