A beautifully French embroidery probably dating from the late 1800's.Very fine stitching. Possibly a commenorative piece. Depicts a pedastal center with a wreath of flowers and leaves above and in the center an ornate monogram.
At the sides trees, one with a gazebo. In the background a river and beyond that more trees and shrubbery. All done in silk and silk chenille threads except the monogram which is done in a silver metallic thread.
The base is an antique white silk which has a linen back.
The entire piece has been applied to a wooden back which could be removed if desired.
At the back a short discription of the shop in the Lyon which has this piece in stock at one time.
Photos are good representation of acutal color and condition.
