Late 1800's silk panne velvet panel French in origin. Use to be a pelment at one time with a shallow scallop along the bottom edge. Thick pile. Valentine red in color. Suitable for light furnishings as well as upholstery projects. Threads are good and strong.

Condition
 
Left in "as found" condition. 
 
The majority of the velvet is in good useable condition. 
 
One small tear at scalloped edge. It appears that the pelment had a wide band of trim just down from the top edge and a trim along the bottom edge at one time. You will see impressions on the velvet where the trims were placed at one time. These areas could possiblly be steamed out. You will see some slight pile of the velvet missing around the edges but nothing major. Light wrinkles would could be steamed out. Threads are good and strong.
