Always love it when I come across one of these panels that has been worked with lots of character.
Probably dating from the early 1900's a large piece of cotton blue and whtie cotton plaid with a very faint light beige block runnign through the white stripe. Medium weight. The panel has two large hand stitched patches around the center in a dfferent blue and white cotton plaid. Five smaller patches with hand made eyelets here and there in the panel. Some small well done old darns.
Perfect for light upholstery projects or soft furnishings.
Photos are a good representation of actual color and condition.
Measurements
1 meter 92 cm x 1 meter 39 cm
Condition
Obviously damage in the panel at one time which is why it has been patched. There is an L shaped tear a some small holes here and there but the majority of the fabric in very good strong condition. Would be very good for several smaller pillows .
Colors are strong and even. One small obvious stain. A couple of pinhead spots and a couple of light marks which may lift with a deeper cleaning if desired.
The fabric has been given a cold water soak to remove dust and dirst and then a light light laundering using those famous Marseille soaps without bleaching agents.
It is our aim to preserve and protect the orginal colors of the fabric since many of our fabrics are being currently reproduced.
