A very large piece of 19th century French cotton print distressed fabric. Repeating larger groups of florals and leaves that alternate with smaller leaves and florals in between. 
 
Colors are madder red, creme and dark brown with a light brown background. 
 
 Photos are a good representation of actual color and condition.

*actually many pieces of the same fabric all hand seamed together. Original selvage can be seen at the seams. 
 
Condiion
 
Other than removing from a French quilt and removing all of the old quilting threads left in as found condition.
 
Highly distressed with large and small holes throughout as well as thin areas. Some patched over areas using the same fabric. Large section missing which can be seen in the photos. 
 
Colors in the motifs strong and consistant. 
 
The fabric has not been laundered and you may want to give it a cold water soak and cold water wash to freshen.
