French silver lame theatre costume. A dress made by L. Garnier. His name is stamped on the inside of the dress. L. Garnier was a costumier that worked in the early 1900's and from what research I've been able to gather worked in Marseille.

This dress is made entire of silver lame fabric and pleated all the way around from waist down. At the top a strap that would have been fitted around the neck and has a hook and eye closure. Top of the dress is garnished with celluloid dome shaped spangles that look ike pearls and are side with glass bugle beads.

Dressed closes at the side with hook and eye closures. Unfortunately, my maniquen is slightly to large for the dress but gives a good impression of the shape and details of the dress.

Photos are a good representation of actual color and condition.
