The look, textures and designs of 18th century textiles are a league of their own. This 18th century French "farine" flour sack is no exception. Beautifully woven from chanvre hemp linen thread. Oatmeal color. Triangle lap at the top.  Stamped letter "T" towards the bottom and also on the other side about midway down. Industrial weight. Utilitarian look. Would be perfect for upholstery projects or soft furnishings Will accommodate both classical and modern interiors.  Photos are a good representation of actual color.

52 cm wide. 

 

Condition

 

Overall good condition especially for age. This hemp was made to last. There is a square shaped hole towards the top and it has a few light stains but nothing major.  You will see a quit a some desired old darned repairs, four patches and some hand stitching. 

 

Good and clean material.
