An early to mid 1900's Djerba Tunisian ceremonial shawl. Sewn in silks in strips of silk.Some pieces embroidered.  Various colors. A black fringe along the bottom. All hand stitched. Along the top 7 cm wide hand stitchedhem so the shawl could easily be hung.

Condition
 
Overall very good condition and a good appearance with strong colors and no fading. 
 
This is a very large piece. I notice four small holes along the bottom edge two of which are next to each other. You will see a small hole here and there in the shawl but nothing major and a few spots with a bit of wear. A few small areas show where the bands have come unstitched and would need to be restitched. Again nothing major. Still very wearable or a lot of material in good condition for upscalping.
