Two 19th century cotton print fabrics saved from a French quilt. The larger piece has an abstract design that looks like branches. Colors are shades of brown, a bit of terracotta and white. The smaller piece of fabric has oval shaped motifs with a tiny plain background in shades of brown, a bit of terracotta and white.

Photos are a good representation of actual color and condition.

Measurements

The entire piece measures

85 x 99 cm

branch fabric is actually 3 pieces of the same fabric hand seamed together.

Condition

Branch fabric is quite distressed with many small holes and many thin areas throughout. Oval fabric is in better condition with several tiny holes and many thin areas throughout.

The fabric has been given a cold water soak to remove dust and dirst and then a light light laundering using those famous Marseille soaps without bleaching agents.

It is our aim to preserve and protect the orginal colors of the fabric since many of our fabrics are being currently reproduced.
