Recently acquired several of these late 1800's early 1900's French tambour embroideries that would be beautiful used as is or for upscaling garments and interior projects.
This example was made into a curtain. It has wide hem at the top that where the fabric has been turned over a couple of time so you will gain some length on this piece. Done on small netted cottton base. Large white motifs of stylized florals and leaves with a dragonfly and two butterfilies at the top area. Made from cotton and outlined in tambour embroidery stitching. Scalloped along the sides and bottom.
Gorgeous quality material.
Measurements
just over 3 meters from top to bottom
The width is
1 meter 24 cm wide
Condition
Left in "as found" condition and not laundered.
All of the motifs are in good condition and useable. The curtain does show some yellowing undoubtedly dust for the most part so it could use a good soaking. Several small holes in the nettting throughout the curtain so definately an upscale piece or in need of many small mends should you decide to keep it as a curtain.
