A 19th century French cotton quilt. Hqnd stitched in a repeating diamond pattern. 
 
Front fabric very pretty roll print with a band of groups of roses and buds on leafy stems. Roses in shades or rosy red to pink with leaves in a golden beige. Alternate with a band of crooked branches in lavender with small florals in pink, red, white and laveder. Stunning picotage work around all motifs. All agqinst a white background. 
 
Back fabric is a solid white cotton. 
 
Thin layer of batting between the front and back fabrics.

Left in "as found" condition. 
 
Clean appearance;  Colors are strong and even on the front fabric. There is some very light small areas of yellowing from age predominantly at one corner but nothing major. No holes that I discovered: 
 
Back fabrics in good clean condition with just one very small hole that I spotted.
